Arsenal is rumoured to be interested in signing Fabian Ruiz from Napoli. The Gunners may face heavy competition for the 25-year-signature old's from Premier League rivals Manchester United.
According to Metro, the Gunners wanted to sign a top midfielder in January but were unable to do so since none of their chosen targets were available. This summer, the north London club may try to recruit Ruiz. They are said to have started talks with the players' agents about a possible relocation to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, is said to be a huge fan of the Spaniard. Ruiz, he believes, may be the perfect companion for Thomas Partey in the park next season. In the summer of 2018, Fabian Ruiz joined Napoli from Real Betis. He has made over 150 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals in the process.
Ruiz has five goals and four assists in 25 appearances for Napoli this season across all competitions. His contributions have helped the Partenopei climb to third place in the Serie A table. Despite having a game in hand, they are only three points behind league leaders AC Milan. Arsenal have taken notice of the 25-year-performances old's in the Premier League. Arteta is apparently fed up with Granit Xhaka's poor performances and wants to bring in a ball-playing midfielder to complement Partey next season. Manchester United, on the other hand, is also interested in him.
The Red Devils are preparing for the possibility of Paul Pogba's exit. His contract will expire at the conclusion of the season, and he is unlikely to extend it.
