The Ashanti Regional Police Command is on the lookout for a three-person armed robbery group that reportedly assaulted and robbed passengers on February 21, 2022.

According to police sources, the passengers were riding in a KIA Grandbird bus with the registration number GT 5795-15.

At around 3:45 a.m., they were ambushed at the Oda River bridge near Anwiankwanta on the Kumasi-Obuasi route.

Superintendent Godwin Ahianyo, the Regional Head of Public Affairs, signed a statement to that effect.

"Both uniform and plain-clothed police have been sent to the area to acquire all required leads that will assist in the arrest of the criminals," the statement stated in part.

As a result, it has asked the public to provide pertinent information to the police. Meanwhile, the leadership has stated that patrols in the region and outside have been increased to combat similar crimes.
