That is the opinion of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries website and has a medical and data analysis background.

Jota suffered an ankle injury in last Wednesday's 2-0 Champions League victory over Inter Milan.

The Reds' 3-1 victory over Norwich City last Saturday was missed by both the in-form Portuguese star and fellow attacker Roberto Firmino.

Jurgen Klopp stated that there is "no chance" either player will play against Leeds United tomorrow.

Dinnery, on the other hand, believes Jota cannot be ruled out of the final at Wembley this weekend.

"The issue at the heart of this is the degree of ligament damage," he explained to Football Insider's Adam Williams.

"Klopp's preliminary prognosis suggests that it may not be as serious as first thought."

"When there's a lot of swelling around that joint, it can be difficult to get an immediate diagnosis."

He has not been ruled out of playing in the League Cup final. However, I believe it would be a challenge to get him ready and fit for that game. “

Consider the players Liverpool has at their disposal. If he misses out on the League Cup, it won't be long before he's out.

"However, I believe he has a slim chance of making the final."
