"A PROBLEM," SAYS BIELSA OF LEEDS' INABILITY TO DEAL WITH A SINGLE LIVERPOOL PLAYER

Marcelo Bielsa admitted in an interview with Leeds Live that Leeds United were unable to cope with the buccaneering Joel Matip during their 6-0 Premier League thrashing at Liverpool.

If the Louvre ever needed a new team of security guards, we wouldn't accept CVs from Elland Road.

Which of the goals Leeds gave up at Anfield was the most egregious? Choosing the most ridiculous installment of a befuddlingly bloated Fast and Furious franchise must be like picking the most ridiculous installment of a befuddlingly bloated Fast and Furious franchise.

Salah was hit with two penalties? Sadio Mane's tap-in came as a result of Ilan Meslier's dreadful pass. Mane scored his second goal of the night ten minutes later, Pascal Struijk unwittingly bundled the ball into his path.

In stoppage time, Virgil van Dijk nodded in the most free of free headers, Meslier's wrists looking about as sturdy as a daisy chain?

However, one suspects that Liverpool's second goal of the night will haunt Marcelo Bielsa's dreams more than any of the others.

Joel Matip exchanged passes with Salah before darting unnoticed into the penalty box and clipping into the back of the Leeds net.

"A problem of the centre-backs driving with the ball has become very evident," Bielsa says, implying that Matip's 30th-minute strike was symptomatic of a larger issue.

"The solutions are unmistakable. When a center-back drives (forward), he passes the winger on the side he is going up, as well as the central attacker and defensive midfielder.

"Eventually, they come up against our unmarked center-back or our free man."

Clearly, I was unable to solve that problem."

That isn't the only issue Bielsa must deal with.

Leeds United appear to be having more problems than Jay Z on a bad day.

Leeds can almost taste the foul breath of the Championship's gaping maw over their shoulders, thanks to points from Burnley and Newcastle.
