Attackers from Manchester United have been accused of making life difficult for Fred at Old Trafford.
According to ex-England international John Barnes, Manchester United midfielder Fred is a superb player who deserves more respect from fans and commentators alike. Barnes also believes United's forwards must do a better job of protecting Ralf Rangnick's midfield and preventing it from being overwhelmed.
Since his £47 million signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018, Fred has been the focus of a massive split among supporters.
Under Jose Mourinho, the Brazilian midfielder struggled to adjust, and he also underwhelmed under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Fred, on the other hand, has been in his best form since joining the Red Devils under Rangnick, and is even contributing goals to his game.
Rangnick's team, on the other hand, is having trouble controlling games since they are outmanned in the middle.

As a result, Fred and Scott McTominay, United's two primary defensive midfielders this season, have been chastised.
Barnes, on the other hand, believes the club's strikers must do more to assist in midfield and keep Fred and others out of fights they can't win.
And the former Liverpool midfielder praised the 28-year-old for his contributions to United.
"Fred deserves more respect for the job he's doing on the pitch for Manchester United," he told Bonuscode Bets.
"Unfortunately, Fred and Scott McTominay have been playing in games with a front four that doesn't work as hard off the ball, which means the two of them are being swamped [by opposing players]."
"It's not because of those two that teams can get at Manchester United's back four so easy." Fred has been treated unfairly and has been brutally judged.
"You can't have two midfielders doing all of the off-the-ball work when you have a front four that hasn't worked relentlessly when they're not in possession to supplement them."

"Fred is a capable player who has performed admirably in every game in which he has appeared. Ralf Rangnick is correct in his assessment that he is deserving of more recognition."
Fred's pushing qualities continue to shine through under the Godfather of the Gegenpress, and he is gradually winning more respect among the Old Trafford terraces.
Barnes, on the other hand, wants to see players like Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Jadon Sancho improve their defensive contribution if United are to advance as a club.
