Rt. Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Ghana's Parliament has revealed the government may not be able to pay salaries of it's workers in the next three months if leadership sits aloof.
Revealing this on the floor of Parliament, the Speaker indicated that his gravepine sources tells him that even salaries may not be paid if nothing is done urgently.
"Honourable members, the information at my disposal is not to discourage the committee from doing their work but if something is not done within the next three months, the government may not be able to pay salaries so we have to act and do all necessary things to avert that".
Ghana's economy is facing some difficulties as a result of it's high debt and low investor confidence. The opposition has attributed it to the mismanagement by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.
