On March 3, 2022, President Akufo-Addo was scheduled to deliver the State of the Nation Address in Parliament. The Business Committee of Parliament, on the other hand, claims it has been postponed. On Friday, February 25, 2022, Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin made the news at the presentation of the Business Statement.

He stated that a new date would be revealed soon. Members, particularly those on the Minority side, voiced concern about the delays in legislative work. The President is required under Article 67 of the Constitution to deliver a speech to Parliament at the start of each legislative session and before the House is dissolved.

The speech lays out the government's major policy goals and deliverables for the coming year.

It will provide President Akufo-Addo with the chance to emphasize his government's accomplishments, difficulties, and developmental plans for the following fiscal year.
