Vitali Klitschko, the former heavyweight champion boxer, told ITV that he is willing to fight for Ukraine once Russia begins military operations in the nation. Ukrainians have gathered firearms and are "soldiers ready to protect their city," according to Klitschko, the mayor of the capital city of Kyiv.
When asked if he would join the Ukrainians in fighting the Russians, Klitschko answered it was his obligation. "I'm sorry, but I don't have any other options." That is something I must do... "I'm going to fight," Klitschko stated.
Klitschko thinks that his country's people can stave off the invasion in what he has already termed as a "bloody" conflict.
"I think so." Klitschko stated, "I believe in Ukraine, I believe in my nation, and I believe in my people."
Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, took the decision to attack Ukraine, and the assault began early Thursday morning. Wladimir, Vitali's brother and a retired Ukrainian boxer, had earlier in the day issued a long statement criticising Putin's conduct from Kyiv.
Russia's activities, according to Wladimir, are a "blatant breach of international law" and a threat to democracy and the "European way of life." Putin, he claimed, was adopting military techniques to "rescue a fallen empire whose loss he has never acknowledged."
While opposing Putin's activities, Wladimir stated that he thinks Ukrainians would remain strong in the face of tension and Putin's acts, and that they will defend themselves against other nations.
"Let us not be paralyzed by fear; let us not be paralyzed by inaction," Wladimir remarked. "Putin fires at Ukrainian cities, but he is more concerned with our hearts and minds. He wants to sow uncertainty and confusion, which will lead to inactivity.
