"I was scandalized the day I heard the Finance Minister grant an interview to Kwame Sefa Kayi on Peace FM morning show. And his answer on how we are going to go about this e-levy thing was that, it was not for nothing that God gave us 138 and them (minority) 137" , that was his answer.
"A Finance Minister who says that without this I cannot do anything. Who speaks like this in such a situation?"
The government's policy to introduce a 1.75% electronic transaction levy has been the most topical issue after it's announcement in 2021. Government has failed in getting it through a bill to be passed by Parliament as both sides of the house have taken entrenched positions.
Majority caucus have failed to marshall it's 137+1 members to pass the bill to enable government create an entrepreneurial society through the YouStart program and to build roads.
