Many have described a video circulating online as a near-fight between Afenyo Markins, the Member of Parliament for the Effutu constituency who also serves as the Majority Leader, and the Member of Parliament for the Asawaase constituency, the Honorable Muntaka Mubarak, which was captured on camera and circulated widely. This "near-fight" happened when the Deputy Speaker got up from his seat to ask for a suspension or break in their meeting.
During the video, Afenyo Markins and Honorable Mubarak Muntaka were seen confronting each other and continuing their fight with each other. Tempers were beginning to flare, and Muntaka was seen approaching the Honorable Afenyo Markins' residence. In anticipation of potential conflicts between them, the outspoken Member of Parliament for the Adansi Asokwa, the Honorable Kobina Tahir Mohammed, rushed to resolve the situation. After assuming the position of Senior Prefect of Parliament, the Asokwa Member of Parliament listened to the grievances of the Honorable Muntaka Mubarak. Other members of Parliament and parliamentary clerks joined in to give the two some help.
This prevented the disagreement from devolving into a physical confrontation.
