Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has stated that starting Reece James against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday would be a "crazy decision."
James has been out with an injury since the December match against Brighton.
Following a hamstring injury, England's full-back returned to training on Thursday.
Tuchel has now suggested that the 22-year-old could make his debut at Wembley.
"Reece James, even if I wanted to answer, I'm not sure I could; he looked brilliant in the last two sessions; let's see if my crazy side wins and I put him on the pitch."
"It's tempting because he appeared so strong and confident. "We still have two days before we make a decision," Tuchel said.
"We had training with everyone on the pitch except Ben Chilwell, which is fantastic news," he added. From the first to the last minute, everyone participated in team training."
