A footballer has been charged with removing his jersey in order to show a T-shirt message to a teammate who is currently stranded in Ukraine. [email protected] is an example of a creative+ paraphrase.

Premier League footballer Matty Cash scored the first goal for Aston Villa in their 2-0 away win over Brighton today, Saturday, February 26, but was subsequently booked, according to The Sun.

Cash immediately rejoiced by removing his jersey and displaying a message to former Polish teammate Tomasz Kedziora inscribed on his T-shirt underneath. The 27-year-old Pole is currently a defender for Dynamo Kyiv, a team based in Ukraine's war-torn capital. 'Tomasz Kedziora + family, remain strong bro,' read the message.

Referee John Brooks had no choice but to issue Cash a yellow card due to FA rules prohibiting players from removing their jerseys. Brooks' actions sparked debate in the Sky Sports studios, where the match was being broadcast.

Brooks was roundly chastised by presenter Jeff Stelling, who called him a "inexperienced" Premier League referee and urged the FA to drop the charge. "He's been assigned to it!" "John Brooks is a rookie Premier League referee," Stelling said.

"Hopefully, when people come to their senses," he continues, "the Premier League will simply ignore that." They should simply ignore it."

Users on social media reacted quickly, though to be fair to the referee, he was merely following the FA's standards. "Is the ref joking?" one person wondered. "It is the law to be booked for that, but the inexperienced ref could have shown some compassion and common sense and let him off," one person wrote, while another said, "It is the law to be booked for that, but the inexperienced ref could have shown some compassion and common sense and let him off."

"Obviously the ref doesn't want to issue the yellow but it's basically the rule he has to," one user wrote in response to the dispute.

Taking off your shirt is a yellow, whatever the message underneath it may be," another remarked. There's already enough interpretation in this game without having to examine the message before booking someone for removing their shirt."
