NDC MP CHARGED FOR DEFAMING MCE

The Cape Coast High Court has requested the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, to withdraw defamatory explanations he made against the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Cape Coast, Ernest Arthur, inside three weeks.

 

 

The court too inquired Mr Ricketts-Hagan to withdraw the defamatory explanations through a press conference and render an statement of regret to the MCE.

 

The court, managed over by Justice Patience Mills-Tetteh, too charged GH¢100,000 common harms against the MP.

 

A fetched of GH¢5,000 was granted in support of the MCE.

The MCE on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 recorded a maligning suit against the MP taking after what he depicted as ‘defamatory comments’ approximately him by Mr Ricketts-Hagan after his affirmation as MCE.
