WHY RUSSIA IS INVADING UKRAINE

So, Russia and USA were at war some years back (cold War).

After the war there was some kind of agreement. The USA European alliance will not expand eastwards towards Russia and Russia too will not try to form alliance with countries close to America.

So, Russia left Cuba.

Over the years NATO blatantly disregarded this agreement. They expanded taking almost all the countries to the east as Russia quietly observed.

In 2014 a faction of Ukraine decided to break away, and there has been internal war since which has claimed more than 14000 lives.

USA said the democratically elected president of Ukraine which is a sovereign state was mismanaging their economy and placed sanctions on them which plundered the country further down and cause a riot which ended with the overthrow of the president.

USA then backed a Jew candidate who was pro American to take over.

Now this president wants to take Ukraine to join Nato and Russia says no. Because it borders on its security.

Putin then says, Nato should give him the assurance that Ukraine will not be accepted into Nato but will remain a neutral state. But they said no, they will not give Russia any such assurance.

Russia says OK, then since Ukraine is anti Russia, we are taking back the lands we gave Ukraine when they joined the soviet union. That means a huge chunk of current Ukraine.

Now the current president of Ukraine was banging his hopes on America coming to fight for them, but Nato says they can only give them weapons to fight their own fight and place sanctions on Russia.

Why didn't Nato just allow Ukraine to be neutral?

Ukraine is by far the second most endowed nation in Europe after Russia.

With huge reserves of uranium and iron and more, you can see why Nato wants it as an allie.

What next?

It will be like what happened to Iraq. Ukraine will have to fight its own fight?

What could happen?

This can easily turn into WWIII if Russia by mistake hits any of the NATO allie states.

This will see a 30 state Nato alliance against

Russia, China, North Korea, Pakistan, Iran, Syria(no small forces to fight) and possibly Turkey who till now is very neutral. But with Russia taking over Ukraine will go pro Russia.

Just a detailed summary. So Russia and USA were at war some years back (cold War).
