LIVERPOOL are set to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Liverpool's star Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante, according to Fabinho, will be Chelsea's most important players when the teams face off for Carabao Cup glory on Sunday. If the Reds defeat Thomas Tuchel's team at Wembley, they will win their first trophy since winning the Premier League title in 2020.
Liverpool advanced to the final after defeating Arsenal 2-0 on aggregate in the semi-finals.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will play in the final after defeating Tottenham 3-0 in the first two legs of their last four matches.
In the competition's final, Kovacic and Kante were crucial as the west Londoners defeated Palmeiras after extra time.
And Fabinho believes the duo could play a key role again in Sunday's final if the Reds' midfield doesn't get the better of them.
"I remember our last game against Chelsea - the midfield was crucial," Fabinho said.
"I recall Kovacic scoring a really nice goal and playing a good game with Kante."
"We did well as well. We had to keep pressing them because they kept the ball well and moved it from side to side, so we had to work really hard. I believe it will be similar on Sunday. We must work hard to press them and recover the ball, as well as create spaces and opportunities with the ball."
Liverpool's title triumph was their first in 30 years, with the Reds losing only three times on their way to a record-breaking 99 points.
However, due to COVID restrictions, the Merseysiders were unable to celebrate their achievements in front of their fans.
And Fabinho now wants to give Liverpool fans a memorable day in London.
"When we won the Premier League, it was during COVID times, so we couldn't celebrate properly with our fans," the Brazil international explained.
"Having the fans in the stadium will be very special." I believe it will be a 50-50 split between supporters - and hopefully the red portion will be stunning.
"We know our fans will be there for us." Yes, that will make this final truly memorable."
If Liverpool wins the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League, and Champions League this season, they will have completed a historic Quadruple.
Fabinho, on the other hand, insists that the Reds are taking the season one game at a time.
"On Sunday, we have a chance to win our first championship," the 28-year-old added.
"Winning this title would be fantastic because it would be my first national cup with Liverpool."
After that, we'll have plenty of time to consider the other games and titles.
"Let's plan the next one." So far, working game by game has proven effective."
