Rio Ferdinand claims that before United can win major trophies, they must be patient.

Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United will have to wait at least another two seasons before they can compete for major titles such as the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Old Trafford legend has urged the club's hierarchy to follow in the footsteps of Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and give the manager who succeeds Ralf Rangnick at least two years to leave his mark on the squad.

Ferdinand wants United to prioritize recruiting for the new style of play under the next manager.

The leading candidates to replace Mauricio Pochettino at PSG and Erik ten-Hag at Ajax at the end of the season are Mauricio Pochettino at PSG and Erik ten-Hag at Ajax.

'The issue I have is that Ralf has come in, but you'll have to change it again for someone else's football style.' It'll be another upheaval, a new style to implement, and players understanding that,' Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel Vibe with Five.

'I think United have to write off the next year or two in terms of trophies, at the very least.'- say "We're trying to restore what we have, get our enrollment right, there was a certain tactical approach under this new manager that we are going to go with, and he is going to have time to get it all right, there will be mistakes, a few things that go wrong, but we're going to stick with this guy and give him a minimum of two years to work it out" and see the improvement.

It'll take that long, and you can't win with that transition. It does not occur. Liverpool did not participate. How long did Klopp need to win? You must learn from the mistakes of other teams.

'Sometimes you have to humble yourself, make an assessment, and say, in reality, that is where we are.'

On Saturday, United were held to a 0-0 draw at home by relegation candidates Watford. They are still fourth, but rivals West Ham, Arsenal, and Tottenham have closed the gap.

Ferdinand admitted that signings such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane last summer led him to believe that United would be able to close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City and Liverpool.
