Amad is on loan at Rangers from Manchester United, but he will miss their next two games due to injury.
Rangers' Amad.
Amad has picked up an injury that will keep him out of Rangers' forthcoming games this week, though it isn't expected to be catastrophic.
In January, the potential Manchester United forward traveled north of the border on a season-long loan to gain additional first-team experience. At Old Trafford, he got limited opportunities under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
Despite a promising start that included a goal just five minutes into his debut, Amad has struggled recently. Rangers were thrashed by Old Firm rivals Celtic at halftime, and he hasn't started any of the following four league games.
The 19-year-old will not play against St. Johnstone on Wednesday or against Aberdeen at home this weekend. Amad is out with four other Gers players, according to Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and will not return until next week.
"Ramsey, Davis, Amad, Jack, and Helander are unable to participate in tomorrow's game. Hopefully, he [Ramsey] will be able to join the team shortly "added the Dutchman.
"He's already back on the pitch working out." He is dissatisfied and eagerly anticipates his return. Helander and Jack should be back for the weekend, and Amad should be returning the following week."
Van Bronckhorst also provided an update on Amad's progress in Glasgow last week. "He got off to a good start," he remarked. You also know that the shift in environment is something he notices.
"There's also the current level of play. He played a couple of appearances for United, but just in the reserves, so the pressure he'll face in Scotland will be considerably greater.
"However, you can see his quality, and when he came in against Dundee United last weekend, he had a couple of good chances to score." But, as you'd expect from a young player who hasn't played much in recent months, he'll need to mature."
