Since Chelsea hired the German tactician, Thomas Tuchel, the team has progressed tremendously. They have won the Champions League, won the UEFA Super Cup, and recently won the Club World Cup. This is indeed a giant stride and great achievements by Thomas Tuchel.
It has been contested that he is yet to be the best manager Chelsea ever had. Some have argued that Jose Mourinho has done better for the Blues than Tuchel. The argument does not lack merit, as Jose Mourinho had done great job at the Stamford Bridge.
However, if Thomas Tuchel wants to be the best manager ever coached Chelsea, these are two things he should do:
#1. Win the Champions League back to back
The first time the UEFA champions league was won back to back by a team was by Real Madrid under the management of the French expert, Zinedine Zidane. This is may be the reason Zinedine Zidane is rated the best Coach Madrid ever had after the legendary Santiago Bernabau.
The name of Thomas Tuchel will be written in indelible gold if he wins another Champions League title for the Blues. I think it is possible for him to do that since he has a great team and can turn things around.
In my opinion, if Thomas Tuchel wants to be the best manager Chelsea ever had, he should win another Champions League title for the Blues, or at least take them to another UCL finals.
#2. Win the EPL title for Chelsea.
At the moment, Chelsea is in a manageable position in the EPL table. However, they are still considered serious contenders in the EPL title race. They are seated at the third place in the EPL table. After Manchester City lost their match at home against Tottenham Hotspur, the EPL title race has been thrown open, and Chelsea can go for the title.
Thomas Tuchel can reposition his team to go for the EPL title this season.
In my opinion, these are two things Thomas Tuchel should do to be the best manager Chelsea ever had. I am not saying he must win the EPL and UCL at the same time, but he can win one. It will be a great honor to win the title back to back, which can make him the best Coach, even in the world. If he misses the UCL, he should Ensure he grabs the EPL.
