Deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Edem Agbana has described the delibrate deleyance of salaries for public sector workers as insensitive an an attempt to advance an argument for the passage of e-levy.

Public sector workers as at the 1st of March had not received their February salary.

In a tweet, he stated "Ghana is broke but not to the extent that we can't pay public sector workers.

The delay in payment is just to advance the ridiculous argument that without the e-levy, the government will grind to a halt.

A profligate government needs E-Sense not E-levy. This insensitive, failed and disrespectful crop of leaders do not deserve a day more in office.

What do they take us for?".

Government in it's 2022 budget presented a 1.75% electronic transaction levy bill which has still not been passed. All sector Ministers have indicated that without the e-levy, there will be little to do with the meagre resources of the country.
