MANCHESTER UNITED is considering hiring Ajax manager Erik ten Hag as part of their long-term strategy.
According to rumours, Erik ten Hag has already prepared a change at Manchester United. Despite the club's interest in Mauricio Pochettino and Carlo Ancelotti, the Ajax manager is considering a move to Old Trafford at the end of the season. Ralf Rangnick, who took over on an interim basis in December, isn't in the running for the job full-time.
Manchester United are debating who to appoint as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent replacement after he was fired earlier this season.
Pochettino is one possibility, with the Argentine having been a target for the club since his time at Southampton.
In the last 24 hours, Ancelotti has surfaced as a likely candidate, with the board willing to make a temporary appointment.
Ten Hag has also been connected to the position, having performed admirably at Ajax over the last five years, helping them re-establish themselves among Europe's best.
The 52-year-old is now said to be interested in the post, according to the Daily Mail.

And it's been suggested that he's already planning a move because if he gets the job, he'll bring coach Mitchel van der Gaag with him to England.
Chris Armas is Rangnick's No. 2 at the present at Old Trafford.
Following Michael Carrick's departure, the American joined the club at the same time as his German supervisor.
Following Solskjaer's dismissal, Carrick was appointed interim manager of United and performed admirably, winning matches against Villarreal and Arsenal while drawing with Chelsea.
After it became evident that he wouldn't be trusted to lead the team indefinitely, he took the decision to leave.

Rangnick had hoped that Kieran McKenna would stay at United, but he left early in the season.
McKenna has taken over as manager of Ipswich Town and has helped them recover from a shaky start to the season.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013, United has had a slew of assistants.
When David Moyes moved to Old Trafford from Everton, he brought Chris Wood with him, but the pair were out of work barely ten months later.
Albert Stuivenberg and Ryan Giggs were Louis van Gaal's No 2s, with the Dutchman now working for Arsenal.

Prior to Rui Faria's departure in the summer of 2018, Jose Mourinho had Rui Faria as a trusted confidant.
It remains to be known whether United will eventually appoint Ten Hag.
Chris Sutton urged United to turn to the Ajax manager when Solskjaer was fired and Rangnick was hired earlier this season.
"It's strange that United has selected an interim manager while they look for a permanent replacement. It's unprofessional. He told the Daily Mail, "It screams of a half-hearted action."
"Where is the will to succeed?" What happened to the permanent manager? Why are you putting it off?

"Without a plan, they've caved in to fan pressure." They appear to like Mauricio Pochettino, and Pochettino appears to like them. If that's the case, go grab him right now.
"I'd vote for Erik ten Hag if I were in the United boardroom." Who hasn't been wowed by Ajax under his leadership?
"His contract runs until 2023, so the remuneration wouldn't be outrageous, and United would be discussing with Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar." That's an appointment I'm sure Donny van de Beek would enjoy!
"United missed out on Antonio Conte due to their hesitation." His influence at Tottenham is already being seen.
"United require a top-level coach, someone with clout who can straighten them out – and not only for the upcoming season."
