Lionel Messi's tenure at Paris Saint-Germain has had a rocky start. When it became clear that Barcelona couldn't afford to renew his contract, the Argentine joined the French club on a free transfer during the summer transfer window. His early form was respectable, but not quite at the level of alien power we've come to expect from him. Now, on the other hand, he's back to his best.
Despite rumours linking him with another summer move, he has already opted to stay at the Parc des Princes next season, according to Mundo Deportivo. He's gradually adapted to his new locker room, helped along by the presence of old pals such as Neymar Junior, Angel di Maria, and Leandro Paredes, as well as new friends such as Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappe. He also gets along swimmingly with Mauricio Pochettino.
The treatment he's received from the French media is the only blemish on his copybook. He's not pleased with how harsh they've been in their assessments of him, particularly L'Equipe. Messi has expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation to the club's management. However, this does not deter him from pursuing his ultimate aim of winning the Champions League. Messi is looking forward to returning to the Santiago Bernabeu on March 9th to play Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 contest. This season, he's dead set on winning his fifth Champions League trophy.
