According to Leonardo, the Ligue 1 club's director of football, Mauricio Pochettino has never asked to leave PSG despite rumors that he is on his way to Manchester United.

Leonardo, on the other hand, claims that the club has never discussed changing managers and that Pochettino has never expressed a desire to leave.

"He still has a year remaining on his contract [until June 2023]," Leonardo said L'Equipe of Pochettino. We never considered switching coaches, to be honest. We never attempted to contact [Zinedine] Zidane or anyone else.
"Pochettino was in the top five coaches [in the world] before coming here, and he is still in the top five. Even though a lot has happened, we can see the development that has been done. Because you gain a greater understanding of the situation over time, I always see him become more involved.
"I believe he had doubts at times, but he never wanted to leave." He may have had a terrible period, such as when he had Covid in February or March. Then there were rumors of departing during the summer. However, no club made the inquiry.Pochettino spent some of his playing days with PSG, and Leonardo believes that, combined with the opportunity to manage a team that includes Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and others, he would be compelled to stay.
"I don't have a problem with Pochettino," he remarked. We are really open and honest, and we discuss everything. He never expressed a desire to leave. How could a coach in his situation not be motivated?
"You have a team like that, and you're at PSG, where you used to play." I'm not sure how this is an issue for debate."
