Ghana and Russia have a long history together. After Ghana obtained independence, this history was in the form of military support.
It should come as no surprise that Ghana has relations with other European and American countries, as well as China. Meanwhile, while it may not appear that Ghana had a relationship with Russia, one did exist, and it was a military partnership.
Prof. Kwabena Ofori-Attah, who lived under Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's presidency of Ghana, stated on Okay Fm that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah had Terrorist Camps. One was in a town near Konongu, while others were in Ghana's Western, Northern, and Southern Regions the Ghanaian Eastern Regions Individuals were trained to battle at these camps. According to him, Russian personnel were sent to Ghana to train people in these camps. He went on to say that these well-trained individuals were known as Freedom Fighters at the time.
As previously stated, these Freedom Fighters were being trained to fight in South Africa during the Apartheid era. Meanwhile, he stated that certain schools of thought believe these Freedom Fighters will be utilized to overthrow rulers in other African countries.
This indicates that the Ghanaian military foundation contains elements of Russian military ordinances. It also shows that the tie between Russia and Ghana has existed for a long time.
