This is why China has not openly condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Russia, China and USA are undoubtedly super power countries. Over the years each of these three countries find ways to prove to each other who amongst them is the most powerful. Both Russia and China had issues with USA forging to dominate the world and agreed to become allies, to become a stronger force against USA.

Historical Brief

China–Russia relations, also known as Sino–Russian relations, is an international relationship between the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation. Diplomatic relations between China and Russia improved after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the establishment of the Russian Federation in 1991.

American scholar Joseph Nye said with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the de facto US-China alliance ended, and a China–Russia alliance began. In 1992, the two countries declared that they were pursuing a "constructive partnership"; in 1996, they progressed toward a "strategic partnership"; and in 2001, they signed a treaty of "friendship and cooperation.

The two countries share a land border which was established in 1991, and they signed the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation in 2001, which was renewed in June 2021 for five more years. A Late 2012 state visit to Moscow by Chinese leader Xi JinpingRussian President Vladimir Putin remarked that the two nations were forging a special relationship. The two countries have enjoyed close relations militarily, economically, and politically, while supporting each other on various global issues.

Although the West condemns Russia, President Vladimir Putin has vocal supports in China, where the ruling Communist Party tells its people they are fellow targets of U.S.-led harassment.

Recently, Wang Yongchun, a retiree in Beijing has said “If Russia is destroyed, we (China) will be next. This is for sure; The United States wants to dominate the world.

This is basically why China has refused to consider the war in Ukraine as an invasion, but blames the USA.

Cause of the Russian-Ukraine ‘War’

USA is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) also called the North Atlantic Alliance, an intergovernmental military alliance between 28 European countries and 2 North American countries. Ukraine, formerly a Russian colony, wants to join NATO, currently Ukraine shares land border with Russia. If this happens, USA will have military access in Ukraine and can set up military weapons in Ukraine, a few Kilometers from Russia.

Premised on the longstanding animosity, USA will have military advantage over Russia in the likely event of USA-Russia Attack. Russian President, Vladmir Putin thinks Ukraine’s decision to join NATO will pose a security threat to them and will not allow that to happen, hence the invasion, until Ukraine abandons NATO.
