Former MASLOC CEO and Nhyiaeso Member of Parliament, Stephen Amoah has accused Former President John Mahama for being the sole instigator of the resistance by the NDC MPs.
Speaking on TV3's Keypoints Saturday morning, the lawmaker stated that the National Democratic Congress and it's assigns are just interested in frustrating government's efforts in developing the country through homegrown policies such as the e-levy.
He revealed that the entrenched position taken by the minority on the e-levy bill is the doing of the Former President John Dranani Mahama. "I am fully aware that John Mahama is urging the NDC MPs not to accept the e-levy because he knows the levy will help develop the country".
Stephen Amoah again expressed worry about people who he says are ignorant of the bill entirely and are talking about it to cause disaffection for the policy.
It will be recalled that one of government's source of income for the 2022 budget is yet to be passed after series of unsuccessful attempts to get it passed in Parliament. Government has projected to rake in 7 billion dollars from the electronic transactions levy this year.
