Every believer or Christian must grow spiritualy to be able to grow others. As the body needs food and water to make it grow, so do the soul needs the word of God to make it and grow well.
STUDYING THE WORD OF GOD AND UNDERSTANDING IT'S CONTENTS.
There are two methods of studying the bible. These are 1)Textual
2)Topical
Textual methods involves the studying of the bible with a quotation or a text been taken e.g John 3: 16 talks about the love of God. There taken this taxt means you are going to study deeply about the love of God.
Topical also have to deal with you choosing a topic and then looking for scripture s to support your studies. An example could be "FAITH" then you look for verses to support it.
GUIDE LINES
1)Take a verse relating to your study of the day
2) Read through not less than 3 times and find ojt the biblical truths eg: God's promise, warning, righteousness etc.
3) Ask yourself questions, then try to answer them
The typ5of questions can be
- OBSERVATIONAL: Answers are directly from the passage or the verse
- COMPREHENSIONAL : questions that need critical thinking before yoh can answer
- APPLICATIONAL: questions that gose to yourself about the verse you are reading eg: am I righteous? You answer this by yourself
4Look for supporting versre from the bible to make you well understood.
