WAT 2-3 ARS: 2 ARSENAL PLAYERS WHO SHOULD NOT PLAY AGAINST LIVERPOOL ON WEDNESDAY

Arsenal have obviously maintained their excellent record in the Premier League, as they are presently fourth in the league rankings. Arsenal narrowly defeated Watford 3-2 at Vicarage Road on Wednesday, despite the Hornets' relentless attack. Naturally, Mikel Arteta is expected to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. Meanwhile, Arsenal should rest two players against Liverpool next week, mostly as a result of their performances against Watford yesterday. Arsenal and Liverpool will square off next Wednesday on the resumption of their EPL matches. Having said that, Mikel Arteta should bench these two players in order to avoid a back-to-back defeat to Jurgen Klopp's side in 2021–2022.

Without being emotional, it's past time for the Scottish left-back to take a break, as he had little impact on the team's defensive performance yesterday. As a result, he is not deserving of a starting spot against Liverpool next week, as Nuno Tavares can take his position. Kieran Tierney finished yesterday with two clearances, zero blocked shots, four interceptions, zero tackles, zero aerial duels, and zero shots on or off target. Apart from that, the Scottish left-back lost possession of the ball 13 times throughout his 90 minutes on the pitch, with 2/6 long balls, 1/2 ground duels, and just 66 touches. Kieran Tierney is a handsome player, but he may be unable to lift Arsenal's performance against Liverpool, as he was ineffective both defensively and offensively yesterday. Arsenal are winless against Liverpool this season, and Mikel Arteta should rest the Scottish left-back if he wishes to avoid a back-to-back loss to the Reds.

To be honest, Mikel Arteta should start Sambi Lokonga with Thomas Partey in the midfield, as the Swiss midfielder is ineffective. Granit Xhaka, as a defensive midfielder, was unable to dominate the midfield against Watford yesterday, as the Ghanaian master was absolutely swamped. Xhaka lost possession of the ball seven times yesterday, recording one clearance, one tackle, zero interceptions, zero blocked shots, zero crosses, zero long balls, zero shots on or off target, zero dribbles, two ground duels, one aerial duel, and 45 touches. Obviously, Liverpool have a strong midfield, which means Granit should be rested next Wednesday, as he may struggle to maintain control of the midfield, as he did against the Hornets yesterday. Sambi Lokonga normally shines with Partey, and the Spaniard should start them against Liverpool to keep their league ambitions alive.

Arsenal's next opponent is Liverpool. Can they win?
