Saturday's encounter between Brighton and Liverpool will mark the start of Premier League match week 29. This means that the title, top four, and survival races are heating up, as there are only ten matches remaining for clubs with outstanding fixtures. With that in mind, we've selected two clubs that cannot afford to lose or even draw this weekend, as they risk missing out on their major target set before the season began.
Manchester United No. 1
Manchester United are presently fifth in the league rankings and are only a point behind Arsenal in the race for the top four. That said, Arsenal have a three-game lead over Manchester United, and they face fellow top-four contenders Tottenham on Saturday. For two reasons, Manchester United's
meeting against Tottenham is a must-win. One is that it will keep Arsenal's lead above them from growing any larger. The other reason is that it will prevent Tottenham, who are now two points behind and have two games in hand, from overtaking them.
United might still make the top four as things stand, but they may need to win all ten of their remaining games to do so. A defeat against Tottenham might spell the end of their dream of finishing in the top four.
2.Everton
Everton are currently 17th in the league rankings and are deeply entrenched in the fight to avoid relegation. For the time being, their primary advantage is that they have played fewer games than the three clubs behind them, having played only 25 of a possible 28.
Having said that, they are in poor form, and the three clubs below them have also missed up to 28 games. To make things even worse, they can't lose to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday. If they do, they'll fall into the relegation zone and lose their small lead over Burnley in 17th place.
