In order to enhance Xavi's first-team roster ahead of the 2022-23 season, Barcelona intends to add at least four players during the summer transfer window.According to Diario Sport, the Catalan giants are looking for a new No.9, and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland remains their top target, but they also want to add a midfielder, a center-back, and a full-back.

Due of their budgetary constraints, Barcelona will attempt to sign free agents. Franck Kessie, an AC Milan midfielder who is out of contract in the summer, is apparently on the club's radar and has already received an offer from the Catalan giants.

Andreas Christensen, a defender for Chelsea, is also expected to join the Camp Nou on a free transfer. According to reports, a contract to sign the Denmark international is "99 percent agreed."Cesar Azpilicueta, Christensen's Chelsea teammate, has been linked with a move to Barcelona and is surely coveted by coach Xavi. According to trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona has made an offer to Ajax full-back Nouassir Mazraoui.

Haaland 'Wants' to Move to Barcelona

According to Lluis Mascaro of Diario Sport, Barcelona is growing increasingly convinced that they will be able to get Haaland this summer because the striker wants to come to the Camp Nou.

Coach Xavi is working on a new project with young and interesting players like Gavi, Pedri, Ferran Torres, Ronald Araujo, and Ansu Fati, and Haaland has been "seduced by Barca's style of play and the new project" that he is working on.Barca will still struggle to make ends meet, but they have made preparations to be able to afford Haaland. The Catalans have the option of striking a deal with private equity company CVC or selling 49 percent of Barca Studios for €350 million.

President Joan Laporta is said to have met with Mino Raiola, Haaland's agent, and made a five-year deal worth €190 million gross. However, Barca would have to pay Haaland's €75 million release clause as well.Alternatives to Haaland are being considered by Barcelona.

However, several prominent European teams are interested in Haaland, including Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, and Real Madrid, Barcelona's strong La Liga rivals.

If they lose out on Haaland, the Catalan giants will still look for a new No. 9 and have already sketched out several ideas, according to Sport. Darwin Nez of Benfica, Karim Adeyemi of RB Salzburg, Patrick Schick of Bayer Leverkusen, and André Silva of RB Leipzig have all been mentioned as prospective targets.Over the summer, there will very probably be a lot of changes in the Barcelona assault. Luuk de Jong will go when his loan from Sevilla expires, and Martin Braithwaite and Memphis Depay could follow him out the door.

The future of Ousmane Dembele, who is out of contract, is also uncertain, and Barcelona must decide whether to exercise the purchase option in Adama Traore's loan agreement from Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
