Godfred Yeboah Dame, Attorney General and Minister of Justice has proposed for an annulment of the Buem constituency Parliamentary elections to make way for a fresh elections so the disenfranchised people of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe and Lolobi will vote.
Answering questions on the plenary of Parliament, the AG revealed that the constitutional instrument needed to make the new Guan constituency is with the electoral commission and will be laid in the house soon.
Recall that during the 2020 general elections, residents of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe and Lolobi in the newly created Oti Region were disenfranchised in the parliamentary elections but voted in the Presidential elections with the expected creation of the Guan constituency.
Reacting to the issue, the Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency, Kofi Adams described the government as incompetent and said only Parliament had the power to decide on the proposal of the Attorney General and so will wait.
