With Mauricio Pochettino facing dismissal at PSG, he appears to be more likely than ever to join Manchester United - but the Red Devils must first satisfy his rigorous terms before appointing him as their new manager.

If Mauricio Pochettino agrees to become Manchester United's next manager, he has a rigorous contract with the club.

Since the resignation of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last November, the PSG head coach has been one of the leading prospects for the job.

And after his side's 3-2 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, the idea of him joining the Red Devils this summer looks more realistic than ever.

Pochettino is on the verge of being fired, which would allow Old Trafford to swoop and avoid having to pay compensation to the French club.

According to the Daily Mail, they must first persuade him that he is the best candidate for the job.

Man United manager Mauricio Pochettino has a strict term for his players.

Pochettino, they claim, wants assurances from United that he is at the top of their priority list.

So far, it appears that he and Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who has recently begun English lessons and appears enthusiastic about the role, have struck a good balance.

The former Tottenham manager is reportedly looking for a way to return to England, where his family has remained while he has been staying in a Paris hotel since January of last year.

Celtic may contact Mauricio Pochettino as a result of his recent bad form.

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly interested in returning to the Premier League.

If Pochettino is fired, he should have no trouble finding work again, so United would need to act quickly to secure him.

After Solskjaer left, he was their top target, but Ten Hag's success in the Netherlands appears to have thrown them off.

Ajax, whose chief executive is former United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, will not stand in his way if he receives the call.

While Ten Hag has flourished, Pochettino has faltered and now finds his position hanging by a thread.

"The moment is all I can cope with," PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi said after the club's Champions League exit. What will be will be in the future.

"We play in order to compete and win." It's a difficult blow to bear, but we must maintain our composure for the time being."
