Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa midfield player Douglas Luiz. The Brazilian's accomplishments for Steven Gerrard's side have piqued the interest of a number of Premier League's top clubs.
Liverpool see Douglas Luiz as a long-term replacement for Fabinho, as per Express Sport.
In the summer of 2018, Fabinho decided to join the Reds from AS Monaco in a £39 million deal. He has appeared in 154 games for the team in all club competitions and scored nine goals. Fabinho has did help Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool win the Premier League, the EFL Cup, as well as the Champions League.
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has become one of Liverpool's standout performers in recent years, but he is currently short on cover and competition. As a result, Liverpool could attempt to sign Luiz in the hope that he will start providing cover for Fabinho and probably evolve into the former AS Monaco star's replacement.
Douglas Luiz rose to prominence after joining Manchester City from Vasco de Gama in the summer of 2017.
