Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy believes Blues striker Kai Havertz is a better player than PSG's Neymar.

This week, there has been a lot of chatter about the European champions. Due to his ties to Russia, club owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK government, generating uncertainty over the team's immediate future.

Despite previous developments, Thomas Tuchel's side won 3-1 at Norwich City on Thursday in the Premier League. Chelsea's goals came from Trevoh Chalobah, Mason Mount, and Havertz, while Norwich's goal came from Teemu Pukki. Havertz's performance on the night really pleased Cundy. The former Blues defender praised the Germany international, describing him as a "great player." He went on to say that the 22-year-old is his preferred player over PSG superstar Neymar. On TalkSPORT, he said: "Kai Havertz is a fantastic player. I said it last night and I'll say it again: any day of the week, I'll take Kai Havertz over Neymar."

Cundy also made a joke on PSG superstar Neymar's lack of scoring against Norwich at Carrow Road. "When has Neymar ever done it on a Thursday night away in Norwich?" he joked. On Thursday night, Havertz led the Blues' attack against Norwich. Timo Werner and Mount brought international support to Germany from both sides.

Just three minutes into the game, Chalobah scored for the visitors. Mount subsequently increased Chelsea's lead by scoring 11 minutes later.

Havertz was the one who set up the goal for England's international. Mount scored when a ball from Werner was intercepted by the former Bayer Leverkusen forward. Tuchel's team then clinched the victory with a goal by Havertz in the last minutes of the game. The assist came from N'Golo Kante, who hammered the ball into the top-left corner.

In compared to Neymar, how has Chelsea's Havertz performed this season?

Havertz joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2020 for roughly £71 million. In his first season in London, he had a slow start, scoring and assisting nine goals from 45 games.

Havertz's form, on the other hand, has vastly improved this season. In 33 games, the 22-year-old has ten goals to his credit, as well as five assists. This season, Neymar, on the other hand, has suffered with fitness difficulties. So far, the Brazilian has only made 19 appearances for PSG across all competitions. He has four goals and five assists to his credit so far.
