Davido has gone down memory lane revealing for the first time that he was once a rapper who was part of a rap group before metamorphosing into a singer.
The artiste revealed that he was part of a 4-man group that was formed during the school days and were struggling to hit the limelight as buffing artistes. He made this known during ‘Bittersweet’, on Beat FM London 103.6 FM, where he reflected on his musical career.
On how his life as a rapper was, he said; “It was funny but I was so small then. We were like four in the crew (Annie, Anico, Tobi and Emeka).
“I think I will say I was not the best in academics but I feel like they believed, because I really loved music. lf there was anything they believed was that I was serious, we used to record music, we were like a group.
“So we were rappers, we did a talent show and won and I took it seriously. Any time they see me they would be like eh!!! It happened… It’s great to see! It’s a good feeling like when someone that knew you when you were just like nobody.”
