Hugo Lloris was questioned about Cristiano Ronaldo after the forward scored three goals against him.
Lloris is beaten by Ronaldo.
Following Manchester United's win on Saturday, Tottenham's Hugo Lloris claimed Cristiano Ronaldo is 'impossible to control.'
United defeated Tottenham 3-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday evening in a Premier League match that had major implications for the race for the top four. United climbed back to fourth place in the rankings after gaining the crucial three points, but Arsenal, who have four games in hand on United, remain favourites to qualify for the Champions League.
Regardless, United's response to their setback in the Manchester derby was flawless. After missing the previous weekend's encounter, Ronaldo returned with a hat-trick, which was also the appropriate response from the player on an individual level.
Despite the fact that Ronaldo hasn't been at his best since the beginning of the year, Lloris conceded that Tottenham couldn't cope with him on Saturday.
"I think we put in a fantastic collective effort, even if we should have done better with the goals we conceded," says the coach "MYBLOGPAY quoted Lloris as saying.
"We understand that at this level, it's all about the details. Cristiano Ronaldo also played a significant role in United's victory tonight. It hurts because we believe we are entitled to more. However, in football, you always get what you deserve, and we must now concentrate on the coming week.
"I think [Ronaldo] was at his best in the box, very combative." It's difficult to keep him under control, but you have to search for it when you concede set pieces. The second goal came from a cross, and we should have done a better job defending it.
"When you give him a little bit of room for the first goal, he can do what he did."
