Roy Keane was furious when he saw Manchester United defenders Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane warming up for Saturday's match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Varane returned to the United team after missing last week's derby defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford.
He began by running through his routines alongside club captain Maguire in front of the Sky Sports cameras. Unfortunately for them, this meant Keane was keeping an eye on them.
On a mild Saturday evening in Manchester, the former United captain spotted the duo's outfit and felt compelled to comment.
Keane screamed: "Is that a pair of gloves? Do they have gloves on? Is this the image I'm seeing? Are my eyes deceiving me? Yes, that is an excellent message."
Presenter Kelly Cates then defended the duo, saying, "Perhaps they just have cold hands."
"Two huge strong centre-halves, I don't mind full-backs [wearing gloves], but your two centre-halves," Keane replied.
I don't think there'll ever be a greater Roy Keane sentence than that.
Varane wore his gloves and an undershirt for the game, for those who are concerned about what players wear.
Maguire removed his gloves and replaced them with a short-sleeved shirt.
Alamy United came out on top 3-2 thanks to a spectacular Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick.
With a spectacular effort from outside the penalty area, Ronaldo scored inside the first 12 minutes.
Harry Kane's penalty tied the game at 1-1 before Ronaldo scored his second goal of the game three minutes later.
Spurs drew level again in the second half thanks to an own goal from Maguire, but Ronaldo sealed the win with a key header nine minutes from time.
Despite 'Glovegate' a few hours previously, Keane did end up supporting Maguire for his role in the own goal during his post-match analysis.
Cristian Romero was the intended recipient of Sergio Reguilon's cross, and the England international did everything he could to prevent the cross from reaching him.
"You can't be too harsh on Maguire," Keane conceded.

"I've been harsh on him, but he's doing his best, and it's a genuine blunder." In football, incidents like this happen."
He was also irritated by Romero's celebration of his own score in front of Maguire.
"Not good, no, no, no," the Irishman remarked after reviewing the tape. You've seen it before. Don't worry, if you're a player, you'll notice that.
"It's something you should keep in mind."
United has reclaimed fourth place in the Premier League, despite the fact that Arsenal, who is now in fifth place, has played four more games.
