Barcelona are reportedly planning a summer bid for Alexandre Lacazette, who could be available on a free transfer in June, according to Le10Sport.
That's when Mikel Arteta's contract with Arsenal expires, though he's made it plain that they'll talk about a possible extension after the season is done.
This week, Arteta remarked, "We agreed to do it in the summer." "As soon as the season is over, we're going to do it."
Of course, Lacazette would not be the first Arsenal striker to join Barcelona this season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already used this tactic to great success.
Lacazette is also one of Atletico Madrid's choices to replace Luis Suarez this summer, according to Sport, with the Uruguayan striker's contract expiring in June.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas recently told the media that the club intends to make a move for Lacazette this summer, in addition to Atletico.
"In June, we'll do everything we can to sign Alexandre Lacazette," Aulas added.
"We've seen the maturity that he's grown," Lyon director Vincent Ponsot added. We've kept in touch with him at all times. Bringing in major players, on the other hand, is always a challenge."

Lacazette hasn't been scoring much lately, but he has the most assists in the Premier League in the last ten games (with seven).
All seven of those assists came in Arsenal victories, so it's no surprise that his performances are attracting attention from other teams.
