Former Ghanaian international, Frimpong Manso has challenged interim Black Stars coach, Otto Addo to have the effontery to drop Jordan Ayew ahead of the crucial double-header showdown in the FIFA World Cup playoffs against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
"Our biggest problem is the attacking wing where Jordan Ayew is, he has proven that he doesn't merit a call up hence the need for the interim coach to look for some other options as we meet Nigeria in our last Cup qualifiers, Frimpong Manso told Graphic sports.
Frimpong Manso who was part of the 1992 AFCON final squad revealed that the goal keeping, defence and midfield department needs a critical scrutiny and reinforcement for the deadly Nigeria clash.
"Our left back position is also a cause to worry and against Nigeria, we have to get sharp wingers and there's an urgent need for the coach to address that.
He added that ahead of the game, management and the coaches should do whatever it takes to bring on board players including Southampton's centre-back Mohammed Salisu and Brentford's left back, Tarique Fosu should be called to play.
He advised that the Black Stars goal- keeping department should be proactive and look for alternatives because Joseph Wallacot performed abysmally in the just ended AFCON.
The Black Stars of Ghana is expected to host the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Kumasi for the first game in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs on 25th March with the return leg on 29th at the Moshid Abiola stadium in Abuja.
