After Petr Cech refused to guarantee the club's ability to finish the season, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he will stay at Chelsea until at least the end of the season.
Given the drama that has erupted at Stamford Bridge since owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned last week, the German's future has been clouded in recent days.
Manchester United are keeping an eye on events at Chelsea, according to Sportsmail, as they hunt for their next full-time head coach.
When asked if Tuchel, whose current contract expires in 2024, will finish the season at Chelsea despite the uncertainty, he replied:
‘Me? What happens if I stay until the conclusion of the season? Without a doubt, I will stay until the end of the season. Absolutely.’
Tuchel's commitment comes after Cech, the club's technical and performance advisor, failed to reassure fans that Chelsea will be able to finish the season despite the enormous financial challenges that have arisen as a result of Abramovich's sanctioning.
'Well, we have to recognise that, like I said, we take things day by day because we don't have control.' We're having discussions about how we can function in such a way that we can finish the season. 'Obviously, it's a difficult position, and we're also a part of the Premier League, which is one of the top tournaments in the world, and I believe that if we can finish the season, it would benefit everyone engaged in the Premier League.'
