Chelsea defeated Lille 2-0 in the first leg at Stamford Bridge, putting them in a good position in their Champions League round of 16 tie. The Blues won thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic. Despite not being at their best, they were clinical in front of goal when it counted.

Lille, the French champions, had a few chances, but the tenacious Chelsea team held on to a two-goal lead going into the second leg.

Despite the two-goal advantage, Chelsea may not make it to the quarter-finals as they face Lille in the second leg tie and Lille, who are also the French champions, will be looking for a comeback victory to ensure their place in the quarter finals.

Six teams have qualified for the Champions League quarterfinals, but there are still two spots available, and Lille will be looking to join the likes of Athletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, who have all qualified.

Chelsea, on the other hand, may not join those six teams if they fail to beat Lille in tonight's second leg tie, as Lille appears to be back on track after a disappointing defeat at Stamford Bridge a few weeks ago.

Lille may be considered the underdogs going into tonight's second leg tie against, but they may use this to their advantage, as well as two other major factors that we will discuss in this article.

1. Having a home advantage

Lille are known for their consecutive home games, which they may use to their advantage and eliminate Chelsea tonight to advance to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

2. Better, faster, and more precise offensive form than Chelsea

This is yet another significant reason why Chelsea may be eliminated from the Champions League tonight. Lille are known for having a better, faster, and more precise attacking form on goal than Chelsea, who have struggled with their attack as a team in the past.

Remember that the French side won two straight games against Lyon and Clermont Foot before drawing with Saint Etienne last time out. This demonstrates how confident they will be going into tonight's game against Chelsea, which they may win and advance to the quarter-finals.
