Arsenal has made 'initial contact' with Real Madrid in the hopes of luring Eden Hazard to the Emirates.
Hazard spent seven years at Arsenal's arch-rivals Chelsea, where he established himself as a legend, before joining Real Madrid in 2019.
However, the Belgian's time in Spain has not gone as planned, with him spending the majority of his time on the bench.
Hazard is out of favor at the Santiago Bernabeu and is expected to be sold in the summer transfer window, despite the £100 million transfer fee.
Arsenal are apparently interested in bringing Hazard back to the Premier League, where he won Player of the Season in 2014/15.
However, as the Gunners try to ascend the league table, this would not be a wise decision.
Arsenal to sign Hazard?
Hazard has been plagued by ailments since his move to Real Madrid, which had been rumored for years. In actuality, he has only made 28 La Liga starts for Los Blancos in almost three seasons, scoring four times.
Now it's evident that he's been replaced by young winger Vinicius Junior, and he has no chance of returning to the club.
So, despite the fact that Hazard has stated that he is committed to make a success of his Madrid career, it is time for him to move on to a new challenge.
Arsenal has 'made the first contact' with Real Madrid for his move, according to Foot Mercato.
Mikel Arteta's side would be a fascinating move for him. The Gunners, on the other hand, should keep away from the 31-year-old.
Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe, and Bukayo Saka are among the promising prospects that the Spaniard has assembled.
Hazard's arrival would only jeopardize the offensive quartet's synergy, if he was fit enough to play in the first place.
Not to mention the Belgian's exorbitant wage demands, which would destabilize the club's current structure.
