Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, is allegedly keen on signing Real Madrid player Federico Valverde.
Valverde is one of Europe's most intriguing midfielders, and he has been a regular in Carlo Ancelotti's team this season. Many major teams are interested in the 23-year-old prodigy, including Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp is a major fan of the midfielder, according to El Nacional, and he fits the mould of the team the German has been putting together at Anfield.
Valverde is expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for a cost of €80 million. Real Madrid will not want to lose another midfielder, especially with three of their current players nearing the end of their careers.
With Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Casemiro all in their late 30s, Valverde appears to be a lock for a starting spot under Ancelotti. This season, he has made 31 appearances in all competitions, the majority of which have been as a substitute. However, Liverpool are interested in signing the former Castilla player.
Liverpool aren't the only ones interested; Manchester United, Liverpool's Premier League rivals, have been linked with a bid for the midfielder for some time.
In January, Don Balon (via Manchester Evening News) alleged that Real Madrid was impeding United's pursuit of the player. If the Reds make an attempt to sign him, this might happen again.
