The Champions League knockout stage has been reduced to the final eight clubs as Europe's best compete for a place in the world's most prestigious yearly football tournament.

Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Chelsea, the defending champions, are among the favorites to reach the quarter-finals.

Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, and Benfica are the quarter-final surprise packages, defeating Juventus, Manchester United, and Ajax, respectively. Spain has three quarter-finalists, whereas England has three. After the round of 16 has been finished and the quarter-finals have been set, the final draw will select the line-up for the rest of the campaign and set each club's path to the trophy.

When will the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League be drawn?

On Friday, March 18th, at 22.00 AEDT, the UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw will take place.

The draw will take place in Nyon, Switzerland, at the House of European Football, and will be broadcast live by UEFA.

While the draw will primarily determine quarter-final pairings, with just eight teams remaining in the quarter-finals, it will also establish the group for the remainder of the competition, obviating the need for additional drawings.

UEFA will also announce the quarter-final matchups once they have been set.Once the quarter-final matchups are decided, UEFA will hold the semi-final draw, which will determine which clubs will face which opponents in the next rounds.

For procedural purposes, the draw will determine which side of the bracket will be deemed the 'home' team in the final, despite the fact that the final will be held at a neutral location.

Which teams have advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals?

The round of 16 will conclude on March 16th, and the teams who advance will be added to the list of teams who will compete in the Champions League quarter-finals.Villarreal is in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid is a Spanish football club based in Madrid.

Real Madrid is a Spanish football club based in

Manchester City is a Premier League club based in

Chelsea

Liverpool

Bayern

Benfica.

Is it possible for teams from the same country to compete in the quarter-finals?

Although UEFA has a regulation prohibiting teams from the same country from playing in the round of 16, this restriction only applies to that round of the competition. From the quarter-finals onwards, any team can play any other team, allowing the Champions League race to take center stage.

While Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City won their groups and Chelsea finished second, the Blues could not have been placed with any of the three English clubs in the Round of 16 draw. If numerous English clubs get to the quarter-finals, they may be forced to play each other.

There were no cross-border meetings in the knockout stage of last year's Champions League campaign until the final, where Manchester City fell to Chelsea.

Tottenham overcame Manchester City on penalties in the 2019-20 season, the last time teams from the same country met in the quarter-finals or semi-finals.Is there a seeding system in place for the quarter-finals?

The group stage standings are solely a factor in the round of 16 draw, as is the case for inter-country matches. The draw for the quarter-finals does not include it.

Teams who finish first in their group can only compete against teams that finish second in their group in the Round of 16, giving the group winners a more favorable match-up. As a result, group winners are referred to as "seeds."

All except one of the group winners did not move past the Round of 16 in previous year's campaign. Juventus of Italy, who placed first in Group G but lost in the last 16, was the only group champion who did not advance to the quarter-finals.Schedule for the UEFA Champions League

Only nine rounds of Champions League matches left after the quarter-final draw.

The quarter-finals will be played in a week in April, and the two finalists will be announced on May 4th.

The two clubs vying for the UEFA Champions League title will then have 24 days to prepare for the final, which will take place on May 28 in Saint-Denis, France.
