One of the most coveted individual awards in the Premier League is the golden boot. This honor is given to the player who has scored the most goals at the end of a given season. As a result, the race for the golden boot is fierce. So far, Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Sadio Mane are all in the running, but all three are trailing Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah, who is expected to win the award before the end of the season.
On that point, I've decided to write this post to highlight the current EPL golden boot table, which was updated yesterday after Harry Kane equaled Ronaldo's goal count against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Mohamed Salah, No. 1 (20 premier league goals).
Diogo Jota is number two on the list (13 goals)
Cristiano Ronaldo (#3) (12 league goals).Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur the last time he played in the Premier League for Manchester United. Since then, the Portuguese forward has yet to make an appearance, and when he does, he will almost certainly add to his total.
Sadio Mane (#4) (12 premier league goals for Liverpool)
Harry Kane (#5) (12 goals).
Harry Kane scored a penalty against Manchester United a few days ago, bringing his season total to 11 goals. He equaled Ronaldo's goal total against Brighton & Hove Albion yesterday, closing the gap on Jota.
Ivan Toney, No. 6 (11 goals)Son Heung-Min is number seven on the list (11 goals)
Jamie Vardy (#8) (10 goals)
Riyad Mahrez (nine) (10 goals)
Raheem Sterling (10 goals) is the tenth best player in the world.
What are your thoughts on this?By the end of the season, who do you think will be the winner of the golden boot award?
