Paul Pogba delivers an unexpected response, selecting Emre Can, a former Liverpool midfielder, as his 'TOUGHEST opponent,' along with Chelsea playmaker and France international teammate N'Golo Kante.

Paul Pogba, a midfielder, considers Emre Can to be the most difficult opponent he has faced.

N'Golo Kante, the Chelsea playmaker, was another player he had trouble with.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is the toughest opponent he's faced in his career. Pogba, 29, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

Can made 166 appearances for Liverpool during his stay on Merseyside, scoring 14 goals and assisting 12 times before joining Juventus on a free transfer in June 2018.

Before returning to the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund in 2020, the German earned two Serie A titles and the Italian Super Cup during his tenure in Turin.

Paul Pogba, 29, has named Emre Can as his most difficult opponent in his career.

Can has played against Pogba both locally and internationally for Borussia Dortmund.

Pogba, who has played against Can at both club and international level, has described him as the 'toughest opponent' he has faced, recalling a 'difficult battle'.

'Emre Can, absolutely,' the World Cup winner from France told JOE.

'Obviously, N'Golo [Kante] and everything, but I recall having a big fight with Emre Can one day. But when you pass Kante, you believe there's another N'Golo because he returns so quickly.'

Pogba has faced Can five times in his career and has never lost to the ex-Liverpool midfielder.

During his career, the United midfielder has faced Liverpool seven times, winning once, drawing four times, and losing twice.

Pogba also praised N'Golo Kante, a Chelsea playmaker and international teammate.

Pogba, who has been linked with a move away from United, was a late substitute as United were eliminated from the Champions League by Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Only time will tell whether the Frenchman stays at the club beyond the summer, but if he does, fans are certain to be divided.
