Beginning with the summer transfer window, the 2021-22 club football season has been full with surprises. There have been some surprising outcomes and incidents, and the rest of the season promises to be even more exciting.

With so much on the line, individual and team performances have been extremely high. While many have exceeded their goals, others have experienced their share of setbacks.

Some of the best players in club football haven't had the best of seasons so far. These footballers have a reputation for being extremely talented, yet they have struggled to impress. However, starting January of this year, several of them have been able to reclaim that amazing touch. They now appear to be closer to their best than they did previously. On that point, let's take a look at the best players that have had a great January.

#5 Jadon Sancho is a character in the film Jadon Sancho (Manchester United) When Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United in the summer transfer window, many expected him to be an instant star. Given his outstanding performance at Borussia Dortmund, the Englishman has a bright future ahead of him. Sancho has struggled to adjust to the physical demands of the Premier League and Manchester United's tactical style since his arrival. The right-footed winger had only two goals in all club football tournaments before January 2022.

Jadon Sancho has profited and improved his game since Ralf Rangnick was appointed as United's interim manager. The 21-year-old has three goals and three assists in the month of January. Manchester United's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season remain dependent on his performance.

Ousmane Dembele, #4 (Barcelona)

Given his spat with Barcelona's management, the French attacker was expected to leave in the winter transfer window. Ousmane Dembele remained at the Catalan club after no other offers were made.

Prior to it, the French winger had only contributed to Barcelona's success twice. Dembele's incredible quickness, outstanding dribbling, and fine imagination make him a dangerous opponent. His inconsistency and indiscipline did not assist his chances, but things changed for the 24-year-old under Xavi's guidance.

Ousmane Dembele has five assists and one goal in three starts since January. His present form is one of the reasons Barcelona has improved dramatically in La Liga.

Philippe Coutinho (#3) (Aston Villa)

Philippe Coutinho has had a terrible time at Barcelona, which is no secret. Since joining the Catalan club in the 2017-18 season, the Brazilian has never appeared settled or at ease in the Spanish capital.

Coutinho joined Aston Villa on loan in the winter transfer window, looking for a change of pace. Prior to that, he had only scored twice in 16 appearances for Barcelona.

The Brazilian playmaker's form has drastically improved since joining Aston Villa. In just nine outings, Coutinho has scored four goals and provided three assists. The former Premier League midfielder appears to be on his way to Villa Park on a permanent basis.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ranked No. 2 on the list (Barcelona)

This season, Mikel Arteta's friendship with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has deteriorated. This caused the Gabonese attacker to leave the club and join Barcelona in January.

Seven goals and two assists in 15 appearances was certainly insufficient for a goal-scoring dynamo like Aubameyang. The former Borussia Dortmund attacker's confidence grew dramatically after joining Barcelona.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored six goals for the Spanish giants in just six starts. His form is crucial to Barcelona's La Liga comeback this season.

Harry Kane, No. 1 (Tottenham Hotspur)

During last summer's transfer window, the Englishman was extensively linked with a move to Manchester City.

Despite City's best attempts, Tottenham Hotspur and its chairman Daniel Levy refused to trade Harry Kane.

Since then, the Spurs striker has failed to find the back of the net in the Premier League, scoring just four times until December of last year. Although he performed admirably in other cup matches, he struggled in England's top flight. Everything changed in January of this year, with Harry Kane gradually regaining his form. Since then, the English skipper has eight Premier League goals and one assist, including a brace against defending champions Manchester City. By the end of the 2021-22 season, it will be interesting to see where Harry Kane ranks in the club football goal-scoring charts.
