Despite fouls, Saka says he'll "be going into the next game doing the same things."
Bukayo Saka, an Arsenal and England winger, has asked referees to give him more protection after limping out of Saturday's 1-0 win at Aston Villa, where he had earlier scored the game-winning goal.
Saka is receiving heavy treatment as his reputation grows, and Villa defender Tyrone Mings was booked for the challenge that injured him at Villa Park, despite the fact that Mings won the ball first.
At the end of the game, the 21-year-old approached referee Andrew Madley to express his thoughts.
'I wasn't complaining, but I wanted to let him know that's how I play.' I'm going to run at players because I sometimes need a little extra protection when the opposition tries to kick me.
'My ankle is a little bloody, but I'll be doing the same things in the next game.'
Saka was hit in the midweek loss to Liverpool and was also closely guarded by Ashley Young on Saturday.
Arteta admitted that fatigue was a factor in his substitution for Nicolas Pepe midway through the second half, but he sympathized with Saka's appeal as well.
'We must listen to the players.' 'They are the reason we are all here,' Arteta explained.
'I believe referees do their best. Bukayo expressed his thoughts on what he saw happening on the field. You could tell he'd played a lot of minutes. 'However, he should be fine for England (on Saturday).'
Arsenal's fourth-place finish was bolstered by Saka's 10th goal of the season.
'We did a great job defending.' 'We were so solid again,' he said, praising the goalkeeper and defenders.
'The top four are unquestionably possible. Each game must be treated as if it were a cup final. This was a very satisfying victory, but we must remain humble. We got off to a good start, and the goal put us in control.
