According to claims from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool is leading the race to capture Bayern Munich sensation Robert Lewandowski. According to the report, the Polish international is considering leaving Bayern Munich this summer or next summer when he becomes a free agent.

The Bundesliga champions have yet to offer their star striker a contract. Bayern Munich has a history of releasing players on free transfers who demand more money. David Alaba, who joined Real Madrid last summer, was one example of this. Liverpool are presently the'most advanced' side in the race for Lewandowski's signing, and he might find himself in a similar predicament. Manchester City is also said to be interested in the Poland international, according to the article.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is expected to make a significant offer for his services. Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, and Barcelona are among the clubs interested in signing the 33-year-old. However, none of them can compete with Liverpool due to the financial burden of COVID-19.

If the Reds are successful in signing Lewandowski, he will be reunited with Jurgen Klopp, who helped him develop into a world-class striker at Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp has demonstrated time and time again that he can spot raw potential and develop it into a superstar, like he did with Lewandowski. The forward was signed by the German manager from Lech Poznan in Poland. Lewandowski went on to score 103 goals and provide 42 assists in 186 appearances for Borussia Dortmund while under the German's coaching.

The Polish striker has also been a goalscoring machine for Bayern Munich, scoring 339 goals in 366 games. He's also racked up 69 assists. This season, Lewandowski has 45 goals in 37 games across all competitions, putting him among the finest players on the planet. Is it possible for Liverpool to sign Robert Lewandowski? Regardless of how excellent Lewandowski has been in recent years, he will turn 34 in August, and a move to Liverpool may be out of the question. Under the ownership of the Fenway Sports Group, the Reds have rarely signed players over the age of 27.

Furthermore, given Mohamed Salah's contract predicament, the Reds are unlikely to make such a large contract offer for the Polish. Salah, who is almost four years younger than the Pole, is also one of the top players on the planet. Despite this, the Reds' administration has refused to meet the Egyptian's demands.
