Blakk Rasta has labelled the VGMAs, 3 Music Awards and others as fraudulent award schemes.
He explains that he doesn't understand why people have to vote so many times before somebody can win an award. The Zylofon Radio presenter was speaking on Okay FM. In a conversation with Abeiku Santana, the host of the show, he said "they are all corrupt". According to the 'Barack Obama' singer, despite the fact, some of them were so enthused about the awards whilst they were young and upcoming when one looks into the awards now, it's obvious it's a fraud.
"You see Abeiku when we started coming up, young guys full of energy, we all wanted the awards but when you look inside the awards right now, you'll realize it's all a fraud," he said in the interview seen by pulse.com.gh "What kind of awards is it that before you win you have to vote so many times. One million have to vote before you take the award. What are you awarding?" he quizzed whilst speaking on Okay FM's drivetime show.Abeiku Santana asked, "is that the mechanism for most award schemes around the world?" and Blakk Rasta replied, " it's the mechanism of thievery and corruption and fraud".
When told he means the VGMAS, 3 Music Awards are not exceptions, he emphasized in the video above that "they are all corrupt". Blakk Rasta's comment has been endorsed by some fans after Abeiku Santana posted an excerpt of the interview on his Instagram page. An Instagrammer wrote "If Shatta talk p3 sane baaba Gh pple nor dey like hard truth" and another said, "Every award schemes that include voting are all corrupt". However, another user disagreed with the opinions above as he wrote "Keep degrading your own and making it less credible...bibinii ampa...we disrespect anything of ours and praise that of the outsider's".
This is coming after the VGMAs announced the nominees for this year's awards show. The list sees Black Sherif making it to the Artiste of the Year Category whilst the likes of 'Stubborn Academy' singers, Shatta Wale and Medikal were missing from the category. Others nominated for the most competitive category of the scheme include Joe Mettle, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Sarkodie and KiDi. See the full list here.
