Nana Addo and his appointees have agreed to a 30% pay cut. This they think will go a long way to help the economic melt down that Ghanaians are witnessing. This rate of 30% exceeds that of the 10% that John Mahama and his appointees who voluntary cut their pay by 15% to help enrich access to rural health. The money which accumulated to the tune of 2.5 million cedis was later said to be missing as the chief of staff at the time requested for the money. It is expected that there will be a huge saving considering the huge size of the current government.
Ghana has witnessed unprecedented and gargantuan increases the prices of everything except salaries. Prices of household consumables’ have skyrocket leaving many households going without the usual three-square meals.
The president has announced that the finance Minister will be announcing other measure tomorrow. Ghanaian awaits keenly on what they Finance Minister will be bringing.
